Speake-Marin is very proud to receive its ambassador, Mr. Pierce Brosnan, at the Carré des Horlogers for its first participation to the SIHH from 1pm to 3pm, on Monday, January 16th.

Since 2015, Pierce Brosnan was revealed as the perfect ambassador for the Swiss brand. Friend of Peter Speake-Marin and fan of the creations of the brand, Pierce Brosnan will embody Speake-Marin for the third year with elegance.

“I met Peter on the set of a film in which he was a consultant for a character who was a watchmaker. We spoke briefly; we both love what we do, and myself as a lover of watches I appreciated his genuine passion and subsequent designs. I acquired one of his time pieces and a dialogue ensued. When Peter asked me to be an ambassador for his work it was a simple answer.” – Pierce Brosnan

Speake-Marin is also delighted to reveal a new picture of Pierce Brosnan, one of the best-known Irish actors internationally. Realised by the renowned Swiss photographer Marco Grob in New York, this pictures shows the actor in the light, near a window, wearing a beautiful Resilience, 38mm.

The Resilience is the most classical timekeeper of all Speake-Marin watches with its enamel dial. Peter Speake-Marin tells that “The Resilience’s dial is inspired by the antique pocket watches I used to restore in Piccadilly early in my career. These pieces were often over a hundred years old but were still as beautiful as the day they were made thanks in no small part to their enamel dials. Enamel dials never tarnish with age. Thus, the Speake-Marin Resilience is indeed resilient, in terms of substance – the enamel will stay the same for time immemorial – and in terms of style, thanks to the dial’s pure, clean design and the classicism of the Piccadilly case.”

Classic, certainly, but respecting all the codes of Speake-Marin as its pure, bright white dial in enamel finds its place in a Piccadilly case and the blued-steel hands indicate the time with the Roman numerals. We also find its characteristic pleated crown. All are major elements of the Speake-Marin universe. Furthermore, the Resilience is equipped with a Vaucher 3002 automatic movement and signs the bottom of its dials of “Swiss made” to remind its Swiss origins, whilst retaining the English name and design of its creator.
